Happy New Year

Wow New Years Eve is here and tonight we headed off to Rich and Val's for a party with all her family and a bit of ours, we had a wonderful time and lots of drinks were had by all, not a late night for us but was most enjoyable.

Homeward Bound

Today was our last day in Bali, had a quick breakfast, a quick repack and then it was off to the aiport for the lot of us. We arrived in plenty of time to relax a bit before getting on our plane and heading home. Had a bit of a rough flight in parts but that was due to the storm activity up in north WA. Took ages to get through customs for us as I had a few things that needed checking out to make sure they contained no nasties, am happy to report that we got everything back, including the 11 pieces of artwork for my walls, which I can't wait to see put up, hint hint to Andrew there.

We had a wonderful time in Bali and found the people, the food, the shopping and everything that we did loads of fun and great value. We met some really nice local people who are friends of Sandra and the family while we were there and look forward to catching up with them again sometime in the future.

Mum and dad met us at the airport and we caught up on all the news and events of the past couple of weeks on the way home.

When we got home we discovered that SANTA had been to our house, so that magical reindeer dust really did work, Bella was thrilled and was into the spirit of a 2nd Christmas very quickly indeed.

Last Swim

Tonight after a yummy dinner in the hotel, the kids and a couple of big kids went for a last swim in the pool, Andrew missed out tonight as he is still sick in bed, hopefully he will be better for the flight home tomorrow.

Last Day Today

We headed out this morning to meet up with Pin and his wife Utami and his children Megan and Wiguna, we had a nice lunch down at the beach. Now you may be wondering what is in the cups in 2 of these photos, these are Bella's bits of the sea that she collected and decorated the table with.

After lunch Pin and Utami took us to the art markets where I had an absolute ball, choosing paintings for our walls here at home.

Not having finished shopping Sandra and I headed down for a last minute shop in Sanur before dinner, where we picked up a couple more bargains

Dance Time

Tonight Bella and I watched a kids movie that had loads of dancing in it, she had a great time and had to get redressed up in her dance clothes to enjoy it though.

Andrew was in bed, he didn't feel to good after our day trip today, seems he may have a bit of a case of "Bali Belly", oh dear.

Island Tour

Today Andrew, Bella and I hired a drive Dara for the day, what a bargain $50 for the whole day, and 8 hours touring around the island, we started the day with a Barong & Kris Dance which we all enjoyed, then it was onto the silver factory of course we had to buy something :), next it was to a nursery where we saw loads of plants and tried some local coffee, ginseng and ginger drinks. Next stop was to the volcano and we had a nice and relaxing lunch overlooking it and the valley. We then stopped at Ubud and went to the Monkey Forest, it then proceed to pour like crazy, we did manage to take some shelter so didn't get too wet. Last stop for the day was at a little village, where we had a look around a home.

Fireworks Night

Tonight we headed down to the Bonsai Cafe for dinner with all the family, met up with some other people and enjoyed a nice big dinner. Had a bit of last minute shopping to do, had a ball all the Jo You Come to My Shop made me laugh, but you promised!!! Hahah found a few bargains that I couldn't resist while there too.

The boys were itching for the fireworks to begin, and with a bit of help from some of the locals put on a display to be proud of.












Also tonight decided that we had better take Bella's hair out of the plaits in time for the wedding, lots of conditioning was needed to get her hair back to near normal.
