Grand Final Day

Today we went around to Richie's and watched the AFL Grand Final, enjoyed the match and had a good day, Bella and I went home for a few hours and then after Andrew came home we went back for dinner. We had a lovely night and enjoyed a nice lamb roast.

Bella got dressed up for the ocassion, nothing like taking a princess for dinner.

Uniform Free Day

Today was the last day of term, geez that went quick, Bella has only been back at school for 3 weeks after our holiday and its holiday time again..

Funny thing this morning is that someone was up nice and early and dressed ready for school without any constant nagging from her mum, could it be that wearing your own clothes for the day is a tad more exciting than wearing one's uniform.

So here she is in her cute outfit mum and dad bought for her in Bali :)

A Quick Trip to Adelaide

Had a quick business trip to Adelaide this weekend, stayed with our friend Rod at the unit he is renting in Glenelg, right on the marina which was lovely. Great view, close to everything was a lovely weekend.

Dora Dora The Explorer

Today Bella and I headed off with Patrick and Jackie to see the Dora the Explorer Pirate Adventure Show featuring none other than Dora and her Cousin Diego, we saw the Map, Boots and Baby Jaguar, which Diego rescued off Music Mountain. Swiper was busy swiping and those naughty Pirate Piggies stole the treasure chest that we helped her find.

The kids really enjoyed the show, and I was pretty impressed and enjoyed myself too.

Bella was finally given the jacket that we bought as a surprise when we were in Florida, pretty cool don't you think, she loves it :)

ANJO Night Out

Tonight we took the ANJO Boys on a night out, we headed down to the Indian Ocean Brewhaus for a few drinks and a bite to eat and ended the evening at the Boat downing quite a few Vodka and Red Bulls. A great night out was had by all, loads of laughs and good times.

Quinns Beach Sports Carnival

Today was Bella's first ever school sports carnival. She was so excited getting up this morning and getting ready in her team colour of red.

Anyway they first did a bean bag type race putting the bag in the hoops in turn, she was pretty cool with this one.

Next it was onto the Egg and Spoon race she excelled at this one, very good with her running and keeping the ball on the spoon.

Next was the sack race, she had a ball with this one.

Last of the team events was the tunnel ball which was quite funny.

She did really well in the running race coming in 4th out of 12 so was very pleased with herself, got a ribbon for coming 4th.

Remembering 911

Today marks 7 years since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre, the Pentagon and the downing of United Airlines Flight 93.

It's definitely not something that we will ever forget, I do remember sitting in total disbelief with Andrew as we watched Rove and a news bulletin came on saying that a plane had hit the World Trade Centre, thinking oh what a terrible accident. But then watching the 2nd plane crash into the 2nd tower and just being totally dumbstruck as to what was happening and the horror of seeing the towers collapse one after another.

I think this year it is seems to have hit me harder as we were there a couple of weeks ago and it really put a lot into perspective seeing the big hole in the ground, the construction still going on, not much to really show for it. The memorial museum was something that will stay with me also, I could definitely feel a tear or two well up looking at the pictures, hearing about the people that died and the messages and love that came from their family and friends.

Bend It Like Beckham

Well not quite yet but who knows one day perhaps so!!

Today Bella started soccer training with the Nick Corrigan soccer academy which just happens to be across the road from our house. We have "known" Nick from when we were building our house and have been in fact talking to him for the past couple of years now and have talked about Bella starting well while we were away she just happened to find some pink soccer boots, how appropriate for her. Unfortunately her soccer boots aren't here yet as they are in the boxes on their way from Canada at the moment.

Anyway Bella was so excited to be going there, but was a bit disappointed that Ryan from school wasn't there today. Nick got her to start at the 3.30 class, but I did notice that the kids were quite small, discovered that they were in fact the 3 and 4 year olds, hmm okay so the next class at 4.30 is the one she should be in. So lucky Bella got to play some more and to say she was tired at the end was an understatement.

She did really well and had a lot of fun running around and kicking the ball and is really keen to go back next week
