Animal Kingdom, Africa, Camp Minnie and Mickey Mouse

Today was our last day staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, had a look on the Savannah but seemed to be a little early for the animals. We sent our luggage down to the bell captain area for storage, and we went and had our breakfast at the Concierge level which was really nice, and then took a few last photos, and it was time to head off back to Animal Kingdom for the day.

On our way in we came across Lilo and Stitch, so lined up for our first character photos.

We headed straight to Africa and set off on the Safari, it was so like the real deal it was great. We saw hippopotamus, rhinoceros, lions, crocodiles, antelope, warthogs, giraffe, termite mounds, elephants, flamingoes, and a lot more too. Stopped in the African village and Bella had her face painted and had a unicorn painted on her face. We saw some African dancing and then we headed down to Camp Mickey & Minnie Mouse.

We arrived there just in time for the Festival of the Lion King which was a stage show performance which was fantastic, the music and dancing was great, and we all sang along at times, Bella really enjoyed it and so did we.

We lined up to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck, saw some animals walking out, saw a huge Anteater. We came across a sign for the rainforest café and decided to stop for lunch on the way out, this was an amazing restaurant which had animated characters hanging from theme roof, looking just like a rainforest canopy.

One thing that I must say that I love dining here in the USA, is that they are so prepared for kids dining, colouring books and crayons for the kids to keep, fancy drink containers and excellent menus.

Leaving here we noticed Chip and Dale, Baloo and Pocohontas. Then we were back on the bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge to pick up our luggage and move to our new apartment which is just down the road. We have a 2 bedroom apartment which is really 2 joining apartments each with bathrooms, the main one has a spa, the 2nd Bella’s apartment has a bath, and a kitchenette ours has a full on kitchen, lounge and dining area. We have 4 tv’s for the 3 of us, Bella is in cartoon heaven and Andrew is in golf heaven.

Well that’s it for now, off to bed as we are off to Magic Kingdom tomorrow, Bella has her Bibbidy Bobbity Boo Appointment and we are having dinner at Cinderella’s Castle.
