John F Kennedy Space Centre

Today we headed by car to Cape Canaveral to the John F Kennedy Space Centre. The drive took about an hour and was very uneventful, saw lots of swamps and vegetation on the way, not much else apart from a few vultures. We did see some dolphins in the water when we crossed the bridge though.

We arrived at the visitors centre just before 11 and joined our tour group for the Up Close Tour, which was a 2 hour tour with a guide, we got to go to lots of places that aren’t on the normal tour. We got a look at the Nasa Headquarters buildings and then we headed off to have a look at Launch Complex 39A and 39B where the Apollo 11 Saturn 5 was launched and also 39B where the Space Shuttle is launched from. We also had a look at the Vehicle Assembly Complex and stopped out the front for a closer look, then we had a look at the shuttle landing runway and then it was off to the Apollo/Saturn 5 centre where we had lunch and watched a movie about the 1st Walk on the Moon.

Afterwards we headed back to the start and went on board a shuttle and had a look, Andrew went on the shuttle simulator and Bella and I sat down and had some Dippin Dots icecream J

Was a fantastic day and very informative, Andrew really enjoyed himself here.

Got back early evening and headed to Downtown Disney to pick up a couple of things.

Tomorrow we are off to Breakfast at Asherkus Castle with Ariel and the princesses at Epcot Centre.

For me its time for bed now :)
