This morning saw us up nice and early and out of the hotel by 7am heading to McCarran airpor
t for our helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon. We decided on the helicopter tour yesterday when we were told that to go by bus would be at least a 12 hour round trip, the thought of that was not too appealing to either Andrew or myself. So instead the helicopter trip was a 3.5 hour round trip with access and landing in the Canyon itself.
Well this trip was spectacular to say the least, Bella did her usual and had a sleep on the way and on the way back. We landed in the Canyon for about ½ hour which was plenty of time to look around and take loads of photos, we were given refreshments and I enjoyed a nice glass of champagne, how cool is that !! We saw some chipmunks, lizards and cactus and native plants while we were down there.
About our tour we did the Wind Dancer tour
“Experience an exhilarating flight as you fly over Lake Las Vegas, Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and Fortification Hill, an extinct volcano along with many other breathtaking views. Keep an eye open for wildlife along the way. Descend and land 3,500 feet into the Grand Canyon in the Hualapai Indian Territory. Champagne, beverages and light snack will be served some 300 feet above the mighty Colorado River in one of the great natural wonders of the world. Fly back through the Grand Canyon, view the red rock formations of the Bowl of Fire and conclude your adventure with an exciting flight over Downtown Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Strip. This excursion lasts approximately 3.5 hours (hotel to hotel)”.
So now we are back at the hotel and going for a swim, all before lunch time. Hoping to hit the factory outlets afterwards and then Andrew and I have organized a Nanny to come and babysit Bella for a few hours tonight and we are going out on the town.
