4th July

Happy 4th of July!!

Was a definite feeling around us today as the hotel was packed we had to wear bracelets for using the pool as it was so busy and so much going on. Was a definite sea of red white and blue, whole families decked out in matching outfits at times.

Today we had a quieter sort of day after yesterdays exhausting epic, we all slept in until around 9am and then decided that we would grab the trolley and go to Hilo Hatties where everyone goes for everything Hawaiian, had a great time shopping there and picked up a few most excellent purchases.
We came back and had a nice relaxing swim in the pool which was lovely, but before this we had a paddle in the lagoon, and tried to go into the sea but it was really packed and so rocky on the feet.

Afterwards we went and got changed and decided to go for a walk down the beach and grab some lunch we stopped at the Waikiki Centre and had some Fried Chicken from Churchs well I had this dish that is below here, omg it was great, oh by the way that is what was leftover after I had eaten some :)

We had a bit more of a swim this afternoon and then decided we better get going to dinner, but it was so packed downstairs in all the food outlets and the restaurants that we decided to order room service and sit on our balcony and listen to the bands playing down below and sit back relax and watch the fire works from our balcony, turns out this was a great move and a nice quiet way to enjoy the evening, we are off on a big one tomorrow so will be having an early night in preparation.

Our room is on the 2nd from top floor, 2nd from left

Well the fireworks were fantastic and started off to Bruce Springsteen singing Born in the USA, how excellent that was, they went for 1/2 an hour and had us all oohing and aahing :) There are still people out on the lagoon and beach letting of fireworks now.
