One Day, 4 Castles

This morning we headed off North our first stop was at Welkworth Castle where we stopped and took a few pics. This was our first castle for the day.

Next we went to Alnmouth and enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and some cake, was a really pretty little village with a nice looking golf course and the 19th hole.

Bella asleep on the way!!!

Next we stopped Alnwick castle the home of the Duke of Northumberland (The Percy Family) we decided to do the castle tour and enjoyed it very much, Bella was worried we would leave her in the Dungeon when we went in there, enjoyed a tour through the Castle and saw where the family must relax in the lounge, as there were loads of personal photos, an alcohol trolley and loads of remote controls sitting on the table, that made me laugh.

This castle may look very familiar to you, this castle featured in Harry Potter and is in fact the one and only HOGWARTS!!

We watched the bird show and saw the Peregrin Falcon do his tricks. They had a really cool area for the kids, where they could dress up and play old games, and go on dragon adventures.

We then headed to Holy Island (Lindisfarne) which is really beautiful, it is cut off from the mainland by the rising tide and you can only cross twice daily. We walked to the Castle and did the tour, it was very windy from the top but offered beautiful views of Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands. Lindisfarne Castle stands dramatically on the prominent rocky outcrop which forms the island.

We headed back on the road and stopped at Bamburgh Castle to take a few photos before heading to Seahouses where we enjoyed some fish and chips for dinner. We went for a walk along the docks before heading back in the car and home again.

A view of the Farne Islands.
